The Costa de Almeria is located in the South East of Spain, between the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol. One of the warmest and driest regions of Spain, with over 320 days of sunshine a year, it has a unique landscape of wide open plains, imposing mountain ranges and excellent unspoilt beaches.

DUPLEX DESIGN:
House design: with your own private garden which directly overlooks the beautiful large swimming pool with bridge children's adventure play area, (ideal!! whilst sunbathing in your own garden you can easily watch the children in the pool and at play.)

The garden is adequately sized with its own private shaded terrace, (no fighting over sun-beds necessary, as each property has their own!!!). Leading from the terrace into the house through the patio doors is the lounge, equipped with satellite TV, video, CD player and comfortable sofa bed. The lounge leads onto the dining area, with table to seat 6.

Also on the lower level is the downstairs wash room and toilet. A lovely fully equipped kitchen leads off of the lounge fitted with oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine and all necessary utensils.

As an added bonus breakfast can be taken "al fresco" as there is a small private open-air terrace next to the kitchen. The stairs lead up to the 1st floor, which contains one double bedroom with private patio area over looking the pool and one twin bedroom, along with an additional bathroom with shower.

APARTMENT DESIGN:
Very similar to the duplex, all on one level, consisting of one double-bedded bedroom, one twin bedded bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge.

The apartments are fully furnished with pine units, tiled floors, satellite TV, fully fitted kitchen with full size oven and washing machine, and two baths with showers. Patio doors lead from the lounge onto the terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens and pathways, with an abundance of flowers. This peaceful location has no through traffic and is therefore very safe for children.

The facilities at Playas del Sur consist of a large open-air swimming pool with a separate children's pool surrounded by sun terraces, gardens and fountains. There is a pool bar and a children's adventure playground.

The long sandy beach is just a 5 minute stroll away - it stretches for miles and is never crowded. A further 20 minute stroll will take you to a naturist beach. Set around the area you will find a selection of shops and supermarkets, two tennis courts, a bank, a roast chicken take-away and numerous bars and restaurants. Also for a small charge the use of the leisure club nearby, with indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and gymnasium.

GOLF
For keen golfers there are three golf courses in the area, the first on the mountain, which is a nine-hole golf course in Cortijo Grande. Two new courses in the area: Desert Springs Golf Club 6179 metres, Par 72, this is the first desert golf course in Europe, and is built to the standard of the famous desert course in Arizona. Also Marina de la Torre 5700 metres, Par 72, positioned opposite the beach in Mojacar's this course attracts golfers looking for that new challenge. Split into two distinct nine holes on either side of the hill, overlooking the beach and sea.

THE LOCAL AREA - Almeria is an area steeped in Andalucian tradition, with the historic villages of Mojacar, Turre, Vera, Los Gallardos and Garrucha all close by.

The fishing village of Garrucha is about a twenty minute stroll along the promenade from Playas del Sur. Here, you can relax in one of the many fresh fish restaurants and watch the local fishermen as they arrive with their catch. Many amenities are to be found in Garrucha - restaurants, bars, shops and an amazing weekly market.

Just a few minutes drive along the coast from Garrucha is Mojacar Beach - here you will find watersports and many restaurants, bars and shops. A drive up into the mountains brings you to the typically Andalucian Mojacar Village which is full of old buildings and a beautiful church to explore. There are shops selling traditional antiques and jewellery, restaurants with typical Andalucian cooking and tapas bars all set amongst the cobbled lanes. Many other towns/villages are well worth a drive through the stunning mountain scenery.

Almost the entire coast between Mojacar and Almeria is covered by the Cabo de Gata National Park - an extensive area of sand dunes, wetlands and salt marshes serving as a breeding ground for some eighty species of birds and migrants, including flamingos and storks.

Within a short distance you will find the new Aqua Park with its slides, water shoots and pools - a great day out for all the family. Boat/fishing trips, horse riding, a microlight flight, a visit to the Caves of Sorbas, or Mini-Hollywood (a wild-west town deep in the mountains) are just some of the trips you may wish to take.

CAR HIRE - starts at approx £100 per week for a standard size car such as Ford Fiesta, price list available. Andacar is the company we use, they are based in the local village so should you have any problems with the car, it can be dealt with immediately. Andacar send an English speaking representative to meet you at the airport. Instructions for your journey are given prior to your departure along with a map, however if in any doubt you can follow the representative back to your complex area.

PRIVATE TRANSFER SERVICE - A car is not necessary whilst at the apartments as most amenities are within walking distance and for those that are not there is a bus service which runs hourly along the coast. Therefore should you like a private transfer from the airport to the properties, the price is 60 euros per trip not per person, approx £37 each way.
