Cortijo Grande and Cabrera - the countryside surround Cabrera has recently been designated as a natural park. Development is closely monitored; the overcrowding of the Costa's will not be repeated here. During the planning and construction of each house, particular attention is paid to the occupant's outlook and privacy.

Local facilities consist of a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, horse riding and lawn bowling at the famous Cabrera Lawn Bowling Club.

Mojacar - As if frozen in time, the village of Mojacar nestles on the hilltop high above the sea. Built with all the traditional architecture associated with the Moors occupation of Spain, the white 'snow capped' hill is just waiting to be discovered. Within a labyrinth of cobbled streets lined with traditional, terraced houses, hides a vibrant community. After dark the village comes alive, many small bars and excellent restaurants can be found for those prepared to scour the maze of alleyways and terraces. Music, both modern and traditional, is often played livelier for the benefit of locals and visiting guests.

Mojacar Playa - is situated 3 Kilometres from the village. For the sun worshiper it boasts a long expanse of golden sun-kissed sand, extending northward to the fishing port of Garrucha. To the south the coast becomes rocky, dotted with small sandy coves, this area of beach offers a haven for those wishing a little privacy.

Garrucha - the fishing port of Garrucha is a modern Spanish town and home to some of the finest seafood restaurants on the eastern coast. The wooden hulled; brightly painted fishing boats share the available jetty space with modern yachts and sports cruisers. Fish can be bought fresh as it is landed. Garrucha's street market on a Friday, is and ideal way of purchasing the marine specialities of the area.

Turre - is the nearest town to Cabrera. Geographically, a few kilometres inland, it escapes the sustained attention of the coast bound tourist and remains typically Spanish. The town provides the casual visitor with a true insight into local everyday life. Banks and shops are found in the centre of the town alongside other everyday amenities.

Communications to the area are excellent with flights from most UK and other European airports direct to Almeria, Murcia or Alicante. Cabrera is approximately 45 mins by road from Almeria and two hours from Alicante. The motorways from Northern Europe to Alicante have been extended to the doorstep of the car ferry services from the UK to Santander in Northern Spain. Visitors to the region for the first time succumb to the rustic charm and rarely resist a second or third visit. Many decide to enjoy the climate and the relaxed lifestyle and purchase a home for holiday or retirement.

As most of the villas in Cabrera are built to the individual's design and specification the cost is very much decided by the individual. Currently there are properties being built with the price range between £65,000 to £500,000. With the current exchange rate now at approximately Pts 260/£1 buying your villa now can save your £1,000's.
